Having a keyword in your domain can drastically improve your chances of ranking for a lot of relevant keywords.Keyword-rich domains require less links, less content and less time to rank high in the search engines. The hard part is finding a premium “exact match” domain such as “the search term.com” (since most have been snapped up a long time ago,and any on sale are expensive). However, one option is to register domain names with affixed search modifiers which can still produce the exact same effect when ranking. For example, the term “pest repellers” is a search term getting 130,000 phrase match searches on Google. The exact keyword domain for that search term is not available in any of the top level domains, but its possible to register that keyword using hyphens in the domain name; pest-repellers.com etc. This hyphenated version will rank equally as well as pestrepellers.com.Keyword domains may not be as brandable as a domain name that is short and catchy, but when it comes to SERPS,keyword domains have a much better chance of being in the top ten results, with less effort.
